Bringing viewers the 3rd stand-alone episode in a collection of Keigo Higashino's best mystery short stories. Atsuko (Nao Matsushita) was sleeping in her apartment when she was woken by the sound of the phone ringing. On her answering machine, she hears the police telling her that her husband Yoichi (Kotaro Tanaka) has been murdered. Yoichi was the son of an apparel chain's company president. Entrusted with managing the launch of a new brand in Osaka, he went there on his own. Of course, Atsuko had also been invited. However, she turned down the offer, stating that she wanted to continue teaching at a fashion school in Tokyo, and that Osaka didn't suit her. Atsuko goes to Osaka and is greeted by Banba (Ren Ohsugi) and other detectives. After identifying Yoichi's body, she asks to be brought to the place of his death; he had been killed in his own store. After Banba tells Atsuko her husband's autopsy report, he inquires as to her last contact with him. Atsuko tells him that Yoichi called two days earlier, asking her to come visit Osaka. But she turned him down. When Banba asks her if she can think of any reason why Yoichi may have been killed, she can't come up with anything. He then has Atsuko to accompany him to Yoichi's apartment in order to look for clues. There, the reality of Yoichi's death finally hits, and Atsuko is reduced to tears. She decides to stay the night in Yoichi's apartment. But then, she hears sounds coming from the foyer... A man carrying a sharp object appears in front of a terror-struck Atsuko.
